Dive Brief:
- Popchips last week announced that former Coinstar/Redbox CEO Paul Davis will take over as chief executive for the snack brand.
- Keith Belling, the co-founder and outgoing CEO at popchips, will stay on to focus on global strategy.
- Davis has 16 years of experience working with snacks, including roles at Frito-Lay in Canada, Kettle Foods, Procter & Gamble and Starbucks.
Dive Insight:
Popchips has been pushing to expand its reach and profile recently, reportedly going from $6.5 million in sales in 2008 to $73 million in 2011. Bellings' move to a global strategy seems to makes sense as the company looks for further growth opportunities. (We haven't seen any word on whether on not those ambitions include plans for more Katy Perry-branded snacks.)
