Creator of Plant-Based Protein Movement Increases Retail Footprint for
Meat Alternatives in Response to Plant-Based Food Boom


Hood River, Ore. – Following overwhelming consumer demand for plant-based foods, Tofurky has strengthened its retail footprint across the U.S. and beyond. Sales of plant-based foods in the U.S. rose 20 percent in the last 12 months, reaching $3.3 billion, with meat alternatives accounting for a 24 percent increase and $670 million in sales.1 Worldwide, the meat alternative market is valued at $3.6 billion and projected to reach $5.2 billion by 2020.2
