Yai’s Thai Closes Seed Investment Round with Atlas Capital Ventures

Posted May 16, 2018

Yai’s Thai, the Denver-based food brand pioneering clean-label, easy-to-use Thai sauces and condiments, has announced the recent closing of a seed investment round with Atlas Capital Ventures. The capital will provide the brand with the resources needed to support its ongoing expansion, and continue to propel its success.

“Atlas is excited to partner with this fast-growing, award-winning brand out of Denver,” said Ben Johnson, partner at Atlas Capital Ventures. “It was immediately obvious to us that Yai’s has an innovative, high quality leadership team. Those qualities are highlighted in their products, and their business execution leading up to our investment.”

Yai’s Thai has seen a significant amount of growth since rebranding and launching its line of Thai Coconut Curries and Thai Almond Sauce in early 2017, with over 4000% growth in the past 12 months, according to SPINS.

Since their retail launch in 2016, co-founders Leland Copenhagen and Sarah Hughes have taken a boot-strapped approach to increasing velocities and distribution, which now sits at 2,500 doors. This new infusion of capital will help facilitate the support of current and upcoming retail placement, which the company expects to double by the end of 2018. The capital will also go towards expanding the team and operational infrastructure, scaling up e-commerce, and new SKU innovation.

“We feel very fortunate to have partnered with Atlas,” said Copenhagen, Co-founder and CEO. “The team at Atlas brings a wealth of knowledge to the table, along with an enthusiasm for our brand and mission, which is invaluable.”

Yai’s Thai has positioned itself as the go-to brand for healthy, flavorful, and approachable Thai products. This approach has proven successful with buyers and consumers alike. With Atlas behind them, Yai’s Thai has entered its next chapter.
