Dive Insight:
It's always tough to hear of layoffs. And there's a particular poignancy and reason for ire when, as happens every year, a company announces job cuts during the holiday season.
Regardless of the timing, the folks at PepsiCo's Chicago offices must be getting pretty tired of layoff news. The company fired 150 workers there just a few years ago. And the longtime veterans of Quaker will remember the 300 jobs lost back in 1994.
