- PepsiCo on Monday announced that Sanjeev Chadha will take over as CEO of Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) operations for the company.
- Chadha will step into the role immediately, succeeding former CEO 59-year-old Saad Abdul-Latif, who passed away in August.
- A 23-year veteran at PepsiCo, Chadha will be based out of Dubai and oversee brands such as Mirinda, Lay's, Doritos, Gatorade, Tropicana, Lipton, 7UP and Quaker in the region.

The news of Abdul-Latif's death hit the industry suddenly last month, and Chadha's promotion marks the first new appointment to PepsiCo AMEA's CEO role since November 2009. Umran Beba, who was serving as AMEA's chief human resources officer, had been acted head for the region over the past few weeks.
