Dive Insight:
Despite growing to 60 operators since its launch in 1981, the Turkey Talk Line has somehow never had a male employee. Butterball says it never set out to hire only women, but that its hires had typically been made from word-of-mouth. The line's director, Mary Clingman, says there's no better time than the present to begin actively seeking men to—wait for it—man the line, as around a quarter of all calls now come from men, compared to 9% when it first launched.
