The grocery market in California is about to get a little more crowded, as the global chain Aldi announced on Monday that it was working on plans to establish a warehouse in Moreno Valley, Calif. and generally expand into the the southern part of The Golden State.
The announcement indicated that more information would follow as deals are finalized, but the move is significant for the area's food retail market. Just two week's ago, Bloomberg reported that Tesco was seeking to offload its 200 Fresh & Easy stores in Nevada, California and Arizona, with billionaire Ron Burkle as a potential buyer.
