- Morton Salt Inc. announced that the company will move its Chicago headquarters to the new River Point tower still being built in the West Loop.
- Morton's 16-year lease agreement includes two of the tower's 52 floors and 52,600 square feet. In that space, Morton will bring together 300 employees from its headquarters along with 50 customer service center employees currently working out of Oak Brook, IL.
- The relocation is expected to take place in December 2016.
The new headquarters will complement the company's brand refresh in celebration of the iconic Morton Salt Girl's 100th birthday in 2014.
"This is an exciting time in our history because the new headquarters location will truly reflect the Morton Salt of the future. Our new headquarters space will be modern, open and high-tech, which we believe will ignite a more energized, innovative and collaborative workplace environment that our employees desire and deserve," Morton Salt CEO Christian Hermann said.
"Morton Salt is a company born and raised in Chicago with roots that date back to 1848. Becoming part of this new riverfront landmark is symbolic of our commitment to Chicago and to the continued evolution of our company within this great American city and skyline," he added.
