Dive Insight:
Here we go again. Not only did this news break just one year after a horse meat scandal grabbed headlines, but it came on the same day that the European Consumer Organisation criticized the European Union for not doing enough in the wake of that previous scandal. Hopefully, this latest finding won't result in as widespread a scandal as "Horsegate," which saw the adulterated meat end up in numerous "beef" products, including IKEA meatballs.
