- The company has been at the center of five food recalls since August.
- Some 100 workers have been reassigned. The company did not say when production would resume.

Just think about the number here: Tons of food, lost in five recalls over just four months. We wouldn't wish such a nightmare on our worst enemies in the food business. Shutting the plant while investigators try to get to the bottom of the problem is the only recourse available, and we're glad to see Garden Fresh do so. But at this point we have to wonder if any company can bounce back from something like this.
