Dive Insight:
French's is another in a long line of companies responding to consumer demand for cleaner labels. In addition to the new formulations of existing products, French's is introducing two new products: French's Super Yellow Mustard, which is Classic Mustard with added mustard seeds and more turmeric, and French’s Buffalo Ketchup, which includes with Frank’s RedHot.
The company noted that it introduced reformulated Original Tomato Ketchup, free from high fructose corn syrup, earlier this year. In the ketchup category, over 80% of ketchup consumed had high fructose corn syrup, and high fructose corn syrup-free ketchups generally sell at a premium price. French's noted, "Now consumers can enjoy HFCS-free ketchup with specialty flavor at a fair everyday price," according to a news release.
