- Diamond Foods will build a 7,000 square foot "innovation center" at its plant in Salem, OR.
- The research and development unit will house a test kitchen, product-design facilities, and office space. It's the first such facility for the Stockton, CA-based company.
- The facility will work with all of Diamond Foods' brands, which include Kettle natural potato chips, Pop Secret popcorn, and Diamond of California walnuts.

Reading about the plans for Diamond Foods' new R&D facility left us wanting to work there. According to Bakery and Snacks, the architect who designed the site says the two-story building "is shaped by a correlation to a majestic oak tree" and offers views of the restored wetlands in Salem.
