Abbot's Butcher, the makers of premium plant-based meats, announced a new foodservice partnership with Protein Bar & Kitchen, a health-focused Chicago area restaurant chain. Protein Bar & Kitchen Lincoln Park will offer Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n in the reinvented Vegan Goddess Salad and Vegan Egg Roll Bowl as a limited-time pilot program. During this pilot, the Chopped Chick’n will also be available as a protein choice for any Protein Bar & Kitchen menu item.
“We are thrilled to introduce our plant-based Chopped Chick’n to Protein Bar & Kitchen customers,” said Abbot’s Butcher founder and CEO, Kerry Song. “We believe food should not only taste good, but make you feel good. It should be delicious as well as nourishing, and this new VeganGoddess Salad with Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n delivers a craveworthy bite with wholesome ingredients you can trust.”
The Vegan Goddess Salad is crafted with Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n, mushrooms, asparagus, carrots, chickpeas, plant-based feta, green onions, crispy quinoa, and green goddess dressing. New to the menu, the seasonal summer Vegan Egg Roll Bowl features Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n, kale, rainbow carrots, green onion, riced cauliflower, sesame seeds, garlic ginger sauce, and spicy vegan mayo. Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n is deliciously juicy and flavorful. It is the only plant-based meat free of gluten, soy, natural and artificial flavors, preservatives, and canola oil.
Abbot’s Butcher Chopped Chick’n and these two new menu items are available beginning July 6 exclusively at the Protein Bar & Kitchen Lincoln Park location for the month of July.
“Protein Bar & Kitchen's mission is to serve food and beverage that is delicious, nutritious, and protein-packed. When we decided to add a plant-based Chick'n to our lineup, we found that most of the options out there were soy or gluten-based and full of unpronounceable ingredients. Once we tried Abbot's Butcher, we knew we found the right match; not only was their Chick'n delicious, it was also a clean and allergen-free label. We're really excited to have found a company that understands the importance of what we put into our bodies and we think both our omnivore and plant-based guests will find the Abbot's Butcher Chick'n enjoyable,” said Protein Bar & Kitchen Operations Services Manager, Laura Camerer.
This partnership adds a key Midwest chain to Abbot’s Butcher portfolio of foodservice accounts. Protein Bar & Kitchen will be the first restaurant to carry Abbot’s new gluten-free Chopped Chick’n. Other accounts offer Abbot’s Butcher “Chorizo” and Ground “Beef.” These include Texas burrito chain Freebirds Burrito (“Chorizo”), the Encore at Wynn Las Vegas (“Chorizo”), Southern California-based Urbane Cafe (“Chorizo), and Los Angeles’ Pizzanista (“Chorizo”), Chica’s Tacos (“Beef”), and Honeybee Burger (“Chorizo”).
In addition to these restaurants, Abbot’s Butcher premium plant-based meats can be found in retailers across the US including Target, Whole Foods Market, Fresh Thyme, The Fresh Market, Natural Grocers, and other regional and independent grocers.
Abbot's Butcher is leading the next generation of plant-based meats by offering a variety of protein alternatives made from simple, wholesome ingredients. Founded in 2017, Abbot’s Butcher grew out of farmers’ markets across Southern California and has since expanded into grocers, markets, and restaurants throughout the country. Abbot’s Butcher’s ethos revolves around the belief that food can be both craveable and healing for our bodies and the planet. This is taken through all of Abbot’s Butcher’s operations, from ethically sourced and natural ingredients to animal welfare programs and recycling practices. Each of Abbot’s Butcher’s plant-based meats are Non-GMO Project Verified, Vegan-certified, Whole30 approved, and completely free from soy, gluten, canola oil, or additives.
