HighGround Dairy, Gira, and The McCully Group have partnered together to co-host their first annual Global Dairy Outlook Conference entitled, “Dairy’s Direction, a 20/20 Perspective,” to be held on June 24-25, 2020 in Chicago.
The conference aims to bring global dairy market participants together to discuss and debate a wide range of topics, including broader macroeconomic factors impacting supply and demand conditions and prices, including trade policy, the global economy and weather. In addition to providing the industry with a head start on 2021 budget planning with price forecasts and trends, the conference will also touch on markets that impact dairy including beef, cattle, grains, currencies, oil, and energies.
Other topics on the agenda include exchange/OTC derivatives and trends in price risk management, including technical analysis and how that can factor into a company’s hedging decision matrix. Also, the conference will offer up perspectives on the financial outlook for major dairy and food companies, looking at financials, margin trends, and company activity and strategy. Lastly, the conference aims to explore long-term dairy demand trends, including packaging, sustainability, and the potential impact non-dairy beverages and plant-based protein products will have on the dairy industry.
The HighGround Dairy team is thrilled to be the hometown host of the trio’s inaugural event. Eric Meyer, HighGround Dairy’s founder commented, “I feel strongly that the industry is in need of an event where long-term price impacting trends are discussed, debated, and challenged. There are few better places to host a conference than Chicago in the summer and the timing was carefully selected to precede 2021 budget conversations. Partnering with Mike and Christophe is a real honor, and we are excited to share an excellent agenda with the industry, making this a ‘must attend’ event each summer.”
Mike McCully, President of The McCully Group noted, “ Given its rich history in agriculture and food, Chicago is a great location for this conference. Food, policy and economics are intertwined at the local, national and global levels, creating market disruption across the food value chain. I look forward to working with HighGround and Gira to offer thought-provoking sessions and valuable networking opportunities.”
Christophe Lafougere, Managing Director of Gira remarked, “Fast-changing dairy markets both in the USA and abroad, trade dairy issues and new consumer demands are only part of the many challenges that dairy companies should include in their strategy. Thanks to the complementary skills of our three companies, conference attendees will gain insights and outlook on the main dairy issues. This valuable conference combining dairy trends, debates and networking is the perfect place for refining your dairy strategy. See you in Chicago!”
