San Anselmo, CA – Alex’s Awesome Sourdough, the first naturally fermented sourdough pizza with 100% organic certified and non GMO Project verified ingredients, will be available in the freezer case at Sprouts chainwide this month.

After several years in development, Alex’s Awesome Sourdough began commercial sales 18 months ago and has built a loyal following in the Bay Area. It is available in three skus: mozzarella, mushroom and sunflower pesto. Using organic California flour from Central Milling, each crust is handmade and the dough is left to ferment for over 24 hours to build flavor and nutritional benefits. Additionally, all ingredients are organic and they strictly adhere to using no added sugar, soy, canola oil, commercial yeast, xanthan gum or any preservatives in production.
“I discovered the health benefits of sourdough by accident when I was trying to overcome autoimmune symptoms through a healthier diet” said Corsini “I felt bloated and inflamed when I ate commercially produced bread but when I switched to sourdough bread I noticed a significant difference in how I felt. From that point, I knew I had to evangelize the health benefits of sourdough and I figured creating a natural food brand focused on sourdough was the way to do it.”
