Dive Insight:
Without knowing the terms of the deal, it's impossible to judge the wisdom of this purchase. But with that said, we see no reason to think this is anything but a perfect match.
First, Tyson is already the largest supplier in the country of pepperoni and pizza toppings to foodservice companies. Bosco's would seem to fit well with those services. Second, Tyson is engaged in an all-out effort to boost sales at convenience stores. And nothing says "dinner from the Kwik-E-Mart" like frozen pizza.
