- Tindle Foods, the Singapore-based alternative meat company has announced Timo Recker as its next CEO. Recker was formerly CEO for a ten month stint in 2020 when the company was still under its former name of NextGen Foods.
- At first known for its plant-based chicken products, Tindle Foods has been expanding into new categories over the course of the last few months. Most recenlty with plant-based dairy products as well as sausages.
- Effective January 2024, Recker will be relocating to Europe, based out of Germany, and focus on “increasing distribution for our products in both retail and foodservice,” Recker said in a statement.
The incoming executive has 13 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically in pioneering brands within the foodtech space.
His other executive roles in the category include the CEO of LikeMeat, the German-founded plant-based meat company, where he was responsible for the conceptualization and growth of the brand which included the expansion into 10 European countries.
“I am honored to step back into the role of CEO at this stage in the TiNDLE journey as we double down on our commitment to increasing distribution for our products in both retail and foodservice,” said Recker in a statement. The new CEO will also be leaning into the development of new Tindle products.
Just a few months ago, the company launched its first product sourced from all U.S. ingredients — different variations of sausages including Bratwurst, Italian and savory breakfast.
The launch was a part of Tindle’s expansion beyond its flagship plant-based chicken product and the company’s new “modern aesthetic.”
Former CEO Menezes will remain on as a shareholder and co-founder.
“I am confident that with Timo in his new role as CEO – and with the foundation we’ve built to date – the company will be able to further advance in its mission to build a more sustainable food system over the coming years,” said Menezes in a statement.
Recker currently serves as executive chairman and co-founder of the food tech company, and the transition will go into effect immediately.
