Dive Brief:
- Hormel Foods Corp is shutting down operations at a CytoSport plant in Benicia, CA, and moving production to its Century Foods plant in Wisconsin and a third-party facility close to Benicia.
- Hormel acquired CytoSport, which makes Muscle Milk and other products, in August of last year.
- ConAgra Foods, on the other hand, is expanding its plant in Waterloo, IA, where it will add 55 local jobs. ConAgra says the expansion, which will be for production of David sunflower seed snacks, may be complete by late 2016.

Hormel has also had to recently issue temporary job cuts at one of its Jennie-O Turkey Store plants in Minnesota amid the bird flu. Hormel's earnings saw record numbers earlier this week, but the company did warn that it might come in at the low end of its outlook for the year due to bird flu complications.
