• The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a tax credit that is expected to lure the Nestle USA Pizza Division away from Northbrook, Ill., to Solon, Ohio, if the company can produce 250 new jobs for the region.
• The payroll tax credits that Nestle receives from the deal could be worth $4.9 million to the company.
• Nestle already has a presence in Solon with its Nestle Prepared Foods Co. facility and employs 1,900 people there.

Dive Insight:

Ohio is working hard to lure in businesses from out of state right now, and it's easy to see why Nestle is choosing to take advantage of the tax credits. The Chicago suburb of Northbrook will undoubtedly hate to see them go, but in the race to jobs numbers up coming out of the recent recession, every state is in it for themselves here.
