Earlier this year, Japan-based Takasago International Corp. acquired Centre Ingredient Technology Inc. to expand its natural portfolio. CIT utilizes a unique biotech manufacturing process to produce natural fragrance and flavor ingredients. Takasago offers savory flavors for snacks, soups, sauces and gravies, spices and seasonings marinades, as well as flavors for use in various beverages.
Also this year, Frutarom announced a $130.4 million purchase of Wiberg GmbH of Austria, a world leader in savory flavors, to strengthen its position as a major player in the market. Frutarom has also purchased Grow Co., which creates natural ingredients that improve the body’s absorption of vitamins and minerals.
