- On Thursday, Mars Drinks, a business unit of Mars, Inc., announced the introduction of FLAVIA BARISTA, an advanced brewer designed for use in the workplace to be released to market this fall.
- The brewer features the required high pressure to offer real, full-bodied, Italian espressos with thick, rich "crema" in 30 to 40 seconds. It also can make cappuccinos, lattes, teas, coffees, and hot chocolates.
- Mars Drinks has partnered with global coffee brands Segafredo Zanetti and Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group to feature three Segafredo Zanetti espresso blends: Extra Strong, Mild, and Cafesenza (decaffeinated).
"Our partnership with an authentic globally-recognized espresso brand for our newest premium brewer is a sign of our continuing commitment to delight our customers in executive suites and break rooms alike," said Bobby Chacko, global chief marketing officer, Mars Drinks.
In general, coffee machines are doing well, as people become accustomed to having their favorite java on demand. Keurig machines have been so successful that Green Mountain Coffee Roaster officially changed its name to Keurig Green Mountain Inc., to reflect the fact that Keurig contributes to 90% of its profits. Keurig machines are used in homes, as well as workplaces, though. For now, Mars is focusing on a machine to be used at work. Perhaps it will introduce a smaller version for at-home kitchens in the future.
