Dive Brief:
- JBT Corporation, a food technology solutions provider, is acquiring A&B Process Systems, a provider of processing systems for the beverage and food industries, for $102 million.
- A&B "specializes in the design, manufacturing, automation and installation of liquid foods turnkey production systems," according to a news release.
- JBT also recently completed an acquisition of Stork Food & Dairy Systems, and A&B will round out JBT's liquid foods portfolio. "A&B also brings a large field service operation that will strengthen JBT's installation and aftermarket business," while JBT will grow the geographic reach of A&B's portfolio beyond the U.S. and Canada, according to the news release. JBT also acquired Wolf-tec in December.

"JBT offers a wide range of solutions designed to help food and drink processors deliver the highest quality end products, including fillers, closers, pasteurization and sterilization technologies, and processing machinery for tomatoes and citrus," Packaging Europe reported.
The company discussed promoting many of these technologies at the Expoalimentaria trade fair in Lima, Peru August 26 to 28.
"At our booth, we will feature the whole JBT portfolio for the fresh produce and food sectors, including purees, fresh fruit handling, aseptic filling, pasteurization and sterilization. These are the areas of Liquid Foods we are going to promote during the show," JBT's Latin American sales manager Jorge Brito told Packaging Europe.
