- Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has expressed interest in bringing the USDA's Greek yogurt pilot program to New York schools.
- The program is set to test whether students will opt to have the nutritious yogurt in a school setting, something both the industry and the health department would like to see.
Since much of the American-based Greek yogurt market is based in New York, including Chobani and Fage, Cuomo believes it would be the perfect place to start.
