Dive Brief:

• Hostess Brands LLC has selected William Toler as chief executive officer and president. He succeeds longtime Hostess executive Rich Seban.
• Seban, who had held the titles of president and chief operating officer, was named vice chairman of the company.
• Toler is the former CEO of AdvancePierre Foods, a Cincinnati-based producer of packaged sandwiches, and the ex-president of Pinnacle Foods, which controls such brands as Duncan Hines and Vlasic.

Dive Insight:

Toler seems to have a good reputation in the industry, and that's good for the company. All we ask is that he make sure we never, ever have to go through another Twinkies-are-going-away scare.

We couldn't live through that a second time.
