- A new study published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture asserts that canned peaches may have just as many (and in some cases more) nutritional benefits as their fresh counterparts.
- In the study, higher amounts of vitamin C, antioxidants and folate were found in the canned products being analyzed.
- However, vitamins A and E along and total carotenoids decreased when the canned peaches were processed.
From the article:
... “This study shows that canned peaches can provide comparable nutrient levels to the consumer as fresh peaches, meaning that consumers can enjoy peaches year round without worrying about loss of nutrients in their diet,” concluded the authors.
