Dive Brief:
- Greek yogurt maker Chobani says it is laying off some workers at its facility in Twin Falls, Idaho.
- Details are few. A company spokesperson declined to say how many workers are being let go, but did say that about three-quarters of them are temporary workers.
- Chobani says it does not plan to reduce production at the Idaho facility.
Dive Insight:
It's hard to say what's going on in Idaho, but there seems to be little to no reason to panic about Chobani. The company has had its share of troubles -- one of which involved the mold problem in products from that same Idaho plant -- but a recent loan for three-quarters of a billion dollars and talk of a pending IPO would suggest that finances are fine, at least for the short term.
