• Chobani has hired Dr. Robert Post, the man at the center of two controversial nutrition initiatives, as senior director for nutrition and regulatory affairs.
• Post, who has three decades of experience working in food policy, is best known as the man who oversaw the shift at the USDA from the "food pyramid" to the MyPlate initiative. 
• Post also served as a nutrition adviser to first lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move anti-obesity program.

This isn't Post's first foray into the private sector. His most recent role was as chief science officer for food communications and consulting firm FoodMinds. No doubt the sort of insider knowledge he brought to that company, and will bring to Chobani, is of considerable value as the food industry faces new challenges. Foremost among those challenges will be navigating the increasingly bitter partisan divide in Washington over school nutrition and Michelle Obama and protecting and expanding Chobani's new role in school lunches.
