- Cargill Inc announced on Tuesday that it would spend $48 million to set up an automated distribution center in Dodge City, Kan.
- The company's Dodge City processing plant already slaughters 6,000 head of cattle on a daily basis, and the new center will increase local capacity by 130,000 boxes, allowing the company to store 155,000 boxes of beef there.
- The decision follows other similar investments by Cargill in the U.S. and Canada.
