Dive Brief:
- ADM named Ken Campbell, vice president of its North American Oilseeds unit, as the president of its recently acquired ingredients business Specialty Commodities Inc.
- The promotion follows a similar move by the agribusiness giant last month when it named Greg Morris, who had overseen oilseed processing operations, as the new boss of ADM's new Wild Flavors and Specialty Ingredients business, which was formed when ADM bought Germany's Wild Flavors in July.
- Campbell's appointment was announced as ADM said it had completed the purchase of SCI, which had been announced last month.
Dive Insight:
There are some very talented executives at ADM, and by tradition, many of the best of the best wind up in the ag-trading giant's core oilseeds units. The fact that ADM would yank out two of those folks and put them in charge of ingredients businesses certainly suggests that ADM is serious about its new-found fascination with the ingredients industry.
