- Archer Daniels Midland Co. reported strong fourth quarter 2014 earnings, wherein adjusted earnings per share were $1.00, a 5.3% increase over 95 cents per share in last year's fourth quarter. For the calendar year, adjusted earnings per share increased 37% over last year to $3.20.
- Adjusted segment operating profit was also up over last year's fourth quarter at $1.13 billion over last year's $1.04 billion.
- ADM's Q4 2014 net earnings were $701 million, or $1.08 per share.

ADM has been in the news several times in the fourth quarter and since. In November, ADM named Juan R. Luciano the company's new CEO and launched part of a sweetener-producing piece of its new complex in China. Also in November, ADM filed a lawsuit against Syngenta regarding selling its GMO corn in the U.S. without import permission from China. Most recently, ADM announced joint business development endeavors with Unilever.
