Dive Brief:
- McDonald's said it will begin selling packages and K-cups of its McCafe coffee brand at retail next year, ending months of speculation.
- The fast-food restaurant chain, which claims to sell more coffee than any other outlet in America, is teaming with Kraft Foods for production and distribution.
- The two companies have been testing retail sales of McCafe since October 2013.
Dive Insight:
Back when Kraft and McDonald's first started testing this idea, Food Dive said it was "a match, and a cup of coffee, made in heaven." We'll stand by that.
And here's hoping that Kraft's relationship with its new coffee partner goes better than the one with its last partner.
