Dive Brief:
- Kellogg has appointed Clive Sirkin, CMO of Kimberly-Clark, as the company's new chief growth officer, effective Dec. 15.
- Sirkin is taking the position after it was left open when Paul Norman received a new position as president of Kellogg North America in April.
- Sirkin had previously worked on the Kellogg account for more than 15 years while he was at Leo Burnett Worldwide, before signing on with Kimberly-Clark in 2007.
Dive Insight:
Sirkin "will lead a global growth team that includes global sales, global marketing, global insights and planning and the global breakfast and global snacks category teams, along with research, quality, nutrition and technology," Ad Age reported.
Sirkin arrives at a pivotal moment for Kellogg as the company aims to turn around both its Kashi brand, to improve its foothold in the health foods market, and its cereal and morning foods segment, which has languished in past quarters. Kellogg CEO John Bryant has remained positive about the resurgence of the cereal segment and the company's growth as a whole.
In a Food Dive food fight earlier this year, Kellogg fell to competitor General Mills.
