Local United Way Hosts Food Drive Supported In Part by NestFresh
Chambersburg, PA (February 14th, 2019) - United Way of Franklin County and NestFresh Eggs’ Chambersburg plant – a 10,000 square foot facility that cooks, peels and packs over a quarter million eggs per week.
United Way of Franklin County kicked off its food drive on Monday, February 11 and with the help of local companies, such as NestFresh, will be able to support area food pantries in a very tangible way this winter season.
NestFresh committed to donating hard cooked eggs from its plant in Chambersburg with the intent to make a positive impact on families in need throughout Franklin County. In partnership with United Way of Franklin County, area food pantries will visit NestFresh’s plant to pick up the brand’s donation, whereby media members are invited to celebrate the community coming together for a greater cause.
Eggs are an important part of this year’s food drive, offering a complete source of protein. With NestFresh’s donation, local food pantries will be able to provide guests with a nutritionally dense ingredient that contains every amino acid the body needs to thrive, along with iron, calcium and essential vitamins.
