Vice President of Plant Operations
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Location: Boulder, CO

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Plant Operations is responsible for multiple site plant operations to include plant safety, product quality, as well as plant productivity. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the Continuous Improvement and Technical Services Departments, capital project oversight, as well as short- and long-term business planning and execution.
•In a multi-plant environment, ensure manufacturing reliability, budgeted operating performance and positive organizational culture through the leadership and management of plant teams.
•Develop a plant management team that is effective in recruiting, training & managing plant personnel to realize effectiveness and efficiency objectives.
•Ensure that AOD’s plants are a safe place to work through effective safety programs.
•Develop and implement fact-based metrics that are timely and accurate to manage and evaluate operating results on an on-going basis.
•Identification of needed capital improvements and oversight of capex project budgets and implementation.
•Development and execution of continuous improvement projects in all operating aspects, vendor negotiations and product performance.
•Provide the finance department with timely financial and management information for proper budgeting and reporting and facilitate implementation of all new ERP/ Data Systems.
•Contribute as a member of cross-functional teams such as AP3, Product Development, quality, supply chain, CSR and others.
•SQF Support – Responsible for development, training, implementation and compliance to the SQF program. Oversight of our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs.
•Work with COO as support to strategic projects as well as support for Board level operating decisions.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
•Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Dairy/Food Science/Food Engineering.
•Minimum 15 years professional experience in food manufacturing, preferably dairy.
•Experience managing multiple processing plants
•Demonstrated experience in creating and working with high-performance teams.
•Demonstrated management skills and abilities, with experience in leading a team of at least 300 people.
•Outstanding communication skills and team building.
•High level of emotional intelligence.
•Detail oriented, team member, quick problem solver.
•Experience with UHT/UP processing and ESL filling. Experience in aseptic processing and packaging preferred.
•Product development experience a plus.
•Major capital project implementation experience, including addition of new equipment lines, and build-out of growth facilities.
•Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements for food processing, dairy preferred.
•Knowledge of Organic Standards for food processing.
•Strong, honest work ethic with ability to handle multiple tasks daily.
•Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and proof of automobile insurance with required levels of coverage
