This retailer is growing YOY sales both through the addition of new locations as well as positive compable store sales. Nesteled in the south central U.S. where they lead the market for highest share of the wallet. Ingrained in the areas they service, they are well known for generously giving back to the communities on a local and regional level. Adding over 10 locations in 2017, they are have already broke ground on new stores for 2018.

Job Description

Ideal candidate will grow brand awareness through innovative, solutions based produce programs that help customers easily make meal time and snacking decisions. Experienced in new item development, value added programs that are both a value and on trend with today's customer. Ability to build on program that does a great job delivering on local market produce while expanding private label selection and unique - first to market initiatives.

Ability to blend analyis with creativity to optimize assortment for maximum sales opportunities.

Lead category management team to view business in a collaborative "total store" merchandising/selling environment where each department strives to build brand loyalty, increase trips & frequency and looks for opportunities to encourage customers to shop across departments.

Train & Coach on best practices in category management, procurement, promotional & seasonal planning, and vendor relationships.

Reports to VP of Fresh, dotted line to COO, directly supervise category managers, analyst, replenishment; assist in ensuring proper execution as store level.

Qualifications

Must have 5+ years in produce merchandising and procurement at Director level

Strong category management experience; ability to develop and implement processes to ensure best practices including assortment, merchandising/space planning, new item development, sales forecasting, ad planning, etc.

Proven track record of success regarding ability to identify KPI's and develop programs to acheive budgeted sales and profit goals

Hands on leader, comfortable in environment where there is balance between office and being out in the stores

Ability to create tools to ensure proper execution and maintainence of produce merchandising programs at store level.

Ability to guide on the creation and implementation of in-store messaging that educates the consumer on the produce items and/or "tells the story"
