Dive Brief:
- As Food Dive reported just a few weeks ago, Tesco will be shutting down 43 of its stores in the U.K. among other major changes — and now those stores have been named, the majority of which are Express convenience stores.
- As many as 2,000 jobs may be in jeopardy, with staff notifications underway.
- Some of the U.K. stores include ones in Belvedere, Southampton, and Liverpool Kensington.
Dive Insight:
The names were going to get out sometime, and it appears now the real changes are about to set in for Tesco. This will certainly be a story to watch this year. Although Tesco has seen its fair share of scandal recently, Unilever's CEO is in its corner. And let's not forget about that fancy piece of hardware Tesco has planned.
