Dive Brief:
- Graeme Pitkethly will replace Jean-Marc Huët as Unilever PLC's CFO after Huët departs from the company following over five years at his post.
- Pitkethly is the current executive vice president of Unilever’s U.K. and Irish businesses and will assume his new position Oct. 1. The company has not yet announced Pikethly's replacement.
- Pikethly has been with Unilever for 13 years serving the company in a number of roles, including chief accountant, head of M&A, head of treasury, pensions and tax, and CFO of the company’s Indonesia business.
Dive Insight:
In its recent earnings report, Unilever posted a 12% increase in sales, boosted by the strong performance of the dollar.
What's intriguing here is that some analysts are pondering whether Huët has bigger fish to fry in a top slot position, perhaps a reason behind the resignation, though he "can’t work for a competitor, supplier, customer or partner of Unilever before April without the company’s permission," reports the Wall Street Journal.
