- A new USDA report includes a positive outlook for both EU beef and pork through the rest of the year and in 2015. The increased production of dairy cows and low prices of feeds is expected to give notice to consumers.
- Despite Russia's ban on EU beef, global market production competition is expected to decrease. EU exports are heading to the Balkans and Hong Kong, and South America is predicted to focus exports to Russia, freeing up the EU to compete.
- Additionally, EU pork exports are projected to grow 2%.

This is good news for the Union of Producers and Employers of the Meat Industry, which launched a campaign, "Tradition and quality of European meat," July 24, 2013 to continue through 2016.
