Dive Brief:
- Green Giant is venturing into new territory to market its vegetables toward millennials in a series of new prime-time-news-styled web ads titled, "Caught in the Act."
- Among the first of these videos are spots called "Extra Vegetable Affair" and "Wordz," which features partners suspicious that their significant others are cheating.
- The creative for the ads, which get into racy territory for a family vegetable brand, came from Saatchi & Saatchi.
Dive Insight:
Saatchi & Saatchi has provided some memorable new appearances for General Mills products this year, as well as Hans Streudel, a new mascot for General Mills' Pillsbury Toaster Strudel. The agency handles business for a number of General Mills brands, even though much of Pillsbury's business recently departed for McCann Erickson. These new Green Giant ads will notably be confined to the web and not used for TV alongside the likes of Hans Strudel.
