Yellow, goo-filled cake influences grades
Remember when Hostess was in the debt doghouse and filed for bankruptcy and laid off almost 18,000 employees? Well, thank your Twinkies, Hostess Brands was upgraded from a B- to a B by Standard & Poor's. That basically means the company is on the right track, but a B is considered a speculative grade. Not yet time to break out the Donettes and the Honey Buns.
What, no Facebook birthday notification?
Frappuccino is having a birthday. Twenty years ago the first one was served, not in Seattle, but in Los Angeles. Starbucks has a four-day celebration planned for North America, Birthday Cake Frappuccino. It's vanilla-bean and hazelnut flavored, topped with raspberry-infused whipped cream.
Chicken fries contain chicken, but steak fries ...
Burger King has teased consumers since 2005, putting chicken fries on the menu, then taking them off. Monday the franchise announced the addition of nine breaded and fried strips of chicken as a permanent menu item.
Organic fruits and veggies generally cost more but in the case of five particular items, Consumer Reports says spend the extra cabbage to get pesticide free. There could come a time when bugs are more of a food source. Will we shop for organic beetles?
Say hello to Big Mac thermals. However, you can only order McDonald's new fashion statement online. Who doesn't look good dressed from neck to ankles in a hamburger print? If consumers are too picky to eat fast food, company executives apparently figure dressing consumers in food is the next best revenue stream.
