Dive Brief:
- Francine Katz, the former Anheuser-Busch executive who is accusing the brewer of gender bias, returned to a courtroom yesterday to argue for a new trial.
- Katz' attorneys told Judge Rex Burlison that the judge in an earlier trial let stand a number of legal errors. That trial ended in a defeat for Katz.
- Katz, once the highest ranking and highest paid woman at the St. Louis-based company, says that she was underpaid due to her gender.
Dive Insight:
As we noted in July when Katz first sought a new trial, "there would appear to be some weight behind" her attorneys' claims that the first judge made a series of errors. We, along with Katz and AB InBev, will have to wait and see if Judge Burlison agrees.
