- ConAgra Foods, Inc. announced it will shut down one of its two cookie plants in Ripon, WI, a plant that manufactures soft-bake and "enrobed" cookies. The other Ripon plant will not be affected.
- Shuttering the plant means the loss of about 300 jobs beginning in September and ending by December.
- Management is advising employees to apply for jobs elsewhere in the company.

This announcement comes just a week after ConAgra announced it would acquire Blake's All Natural Foods, a fast-growing healthy frozen foods company. In March, ConAgra reported a huge net income loss as its private brands took a major hit. The company has plans in place to reverse this performance in fiscal 2016.
