Dive Brief:
- Albertsons-Safeway has found a new chief administrative officer, Justin Dye, who will oversee the company's IT, real estate, and corporative development, and supply chain operations as well as the finalization of the merger's company integration.
- Dye comes from his position as COO of New Albertson's Inc., a position he took in 2013.
- Dye will take the place of Lee Wilson, who according to Supermarket News, "opted to remain in his role as a consultant and not go forward as an officer of the combined organization."
Dive Insight:
"Justin’s pivotal role in the formation of Albertson’s LLC along with his demonstrated ability to lead a broad range of administrative and operational functions positions him well for this larger role in the combined organization," said Robert Edwards, Albertsons-Safeway's president and CEO, of Dye's qualifications.
Details of the Alberstons-Safeway merger have been trickling out for months, including plans like selling off stores and assembling new sales teams. The FTC cleared the merger in late-January, and just a few days later, the deal was done.
